Terms of service

Last updated: 16 July 2026

These terms apply to your use of TookMyMeds ("the service"). By creating a family or joining one with a family code, you agree to them.

1. What the service is

TookMyMeds lets families set up medication check-in lists and see when a family member confirms they have taken their medication. It is a communication and reminder aid between family members.

2. Not medical advice, not a medical device

The service is not a medical device and provides no medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Check-ins are self-reported by the person using the app and may be inaccurate, delayed, or missed entirely (for example if a device is off, offline, or a notification is not seen). You must not rely on the service as the sole safeguard for any medication that is critical to someone's health or life. Always follow the direction of qualified medical professionals.

3. Your account and family code

Access to a family's data is controlled by its family code. You are responsible for sharing that code only with people you trust; anyone with the code can view and edit that family's medication information. If you believe a code has been shared inappropriately, stop using it and create a new family.

4. Subscriptions and billing

The service is offered on a monthly subscription with a free trial period, billed through Stripe. You can cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period; no partial refunds are provided. Prices may change with reasonable notice. If a subscription lapses, access to the service is paused but your data is retained for a reasonable period so you can resume.

4a. Cancellation, cooling-off, and refunds

You can cancel at any time from the Billing section of the app (via Stripe's customer portal) or by emailing support@tookmymeds.co.uk. If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you have a statutory 14-day cooling-off period from the start of a subscription; the 14-day free trial runs alongside this, so you can cancel during the trial and pay nothing at all. After a payment has been taken, cancellation stops future charges at the end of the current billing period. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service — including attempting to access other families' data, probing or disrupting the service's infrastructure, or using the service for anything unlawful.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including, without limitation, harm arising from missed, inaccurate, or delayed medication check-ins or notifications. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

7. Termination

We may suspend or end access for breach of these terms. You may stop using the service and cancel your subscription at any time.

8. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date above. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
